Baker’s Cay Resort by Hilton

Baker’s Cay Resort, which is a Hilton property located in Key Largo, Floria, offers something for everyone. The resort is gated, so upon arrival you stop at a guard stand where the guard verifies that you have a reservation and opens the gate for you to enter the parking lot. The parking lot is spacious with plenty of parking. The next stop is the front desk to check in for the stay. This is the standard check in process, and I had already completed most of the process in my Hilton app before arrival. It is important to note that this resort is not all-inclusive, and they do charge a daily resort fee.

There are several types of rooms available which include: Hammock View, Waterfront, Partial Waterfront, Junior Suite, Baker’s Cay Suite, and Premium Waterfront Suite. I booked the Hammock View room, which was the least expensive that was available when I booked the reservation. Upon arrival, I was upgraded to a Partial Waterfront room due to my diamond status in the Hilton Honors program. I traveled with a family member for this trip, so I needed a room with two beds. The room itself was very nice. There was a fresh palm clipping in the room and two waters in reusable water bottles with a note that said that the water is complimentary. The room was spacious and modern with a small balcony area. The room was located in the hammock area, which is farthest away from the beach area and was more serene and felt a bit secluded. It was very quiet in this part of the resort, but it did require that you walk a bit to get to the amenities. I personally prefer a quiet area when I am on vacation, so the walk to amenities did not bother me.

The resort offers activities throughout the day, so you can keep yourself busy if you choose. The activities that I participated in were morning yoga, sunset champagne toast, and the pineapple scavenger hunt. Morning yoga took place in the hammock area of the resort. The yoga instructor explained the poses well and made sure that everyone was comfortable, from the most novice yoga practitioner to the highly advanced. The sunset champagne toast took place in the restaurants located on the property. At sunset, we were offered a glass of champagne to enjoy as we watched the sunset. The pineapple scavenger hunt was very fun. There are gold pineapples located around the property. The goal is to find all of the gold pineapples. While I did not win this scavenger hunt, it was fun to wander around the resort in search of the elusive pineapples. Other activities that I saw offered were: paddleboarding, kayaking, jet skiing, bicycling, fishing, paint and sip classes, movie night, game night, and bonfire night. I am certain that there was even more offered. There was always something on the schedule.

Dining options included Dry Rocks, Calusa, Pool Bar, Tiki Bar, and Room Service. Dry Rocks is my favorite restaurant on the property. It is a casual restaurant with outdoor seating that included swings and benches. The food is Cajun inspired Caribbean and was delicious. Calusa is a more formal restaurant. This is where breakfast is served each morning. It is also open for lunch and dinner. The seating is inside with beautiful views. The Pool Bar and the Tiki Bar offer small snack options. The Pool Bar is located at the pool and the Tiki Bar is located on the beach. Finally, room service was also an option. I took advantage of room service a couple of times and was very happy with the service. It was fast and the food was delicious.

As for the property itself, everything was beautiful and well maintained. There are two connected pool areas, one of which is reserved for adults only. There are trees lining the property which offer nice shade in the south Florida heat. The hammock area is an area of trees right on the water. There are hammocks in the trees, as well as lounge chairs. The beach area is nice and open with a few trees for shade. The beach area is where all of the water activities are located. There are lounge chairs with umbrellas and a towel station in the beach area. The beach attendant did an excellent job of removing items from lounge chairs that were not in use. There were seating areas spread throughout the property, so it was easy to find a spot to enjoy the beautiful weather. The resort is dog friendly, so there were several people out walking their dogs around the property. There were also bottle fill water stations throughout the property.

I spent nine days at Baker’s Cay Resort, and my only complaint is that I did not get to stay long enough. The resort has everything that you need to have a wonderful, relaxing vacation. There is no need to leave the resort property during your vacation unless you want to explore the Florida Keys. This was, by far, the best vacation that I have ever had, and I hope to return in the future. The website for this resort is http://www.bakerscayresort.com. This is not a paid advertisement; it is just someone who had a wonderful vacation and wants to share the experience with the world.
